The owners of The Brush and Comb on Tennyson Street were kind enough to extend the length of my show until the end of July, so I thought I would share more images of some of the new work on that is currently on display. The Presence paintings are finished with a layer of handmade paper and varnish. These are smaller paintings meant to be hung in a pair or small group. I am intrigued by pushing the contrast between the geometric and organic in my compositions. The combination of the drips paired with the handmade paper are reminiscent of a forest and the solid strip of color adds a contemporary feel to more traditional subject matter. Viewing these paintings in person is even better than the photograph, so try to stop in before the end of July!
