Raw and Incomplete

These two paintings in the series are the first to have the wood panel exposed.  This adds a raw aesthetic to the body of work when all 42 are hanging all together.  The viewer can make his or her own interpretations about the metaphors related to the exposed panel and its incomplete nature.

I am pleased with the placement of the spine drawing in Pieces 11.  I find the balance of the positive and negative space in that section of the spine beautiful.  Because the drawing is zoomed in and cropped to fit that space, it takes on an abstract nature.

Hi Jessica. This series is so amazing. I have told your parents but never got it to you. Just fantastic. They move me to tears. Not quite sure why. Maybe the reason you have painted them. Thanks for making these. Life pieces. Nori
