About The Art Academy of Brighton: The Art Academy has been providing art instruction for children and adults in Brighton for over 7 years. Jim Peters started the program then known as the Lighthouse Art Academy. In 2007 Judith and Gary Dickinson took over the school, changed the name, and expanded the program. The academy operates year-round offering introduction as well as advanced classes in the classical form of drawing and painting. Judith Dickinson is a full-time portrait artist and painter. She was recently commissioned to paint the official portrait of Governor Bill Ritter that hangs in the state capitol building. She also recently completed a large public art project for the new Adams County Government Center in Brighton. The art academy is proud to present its summer program with Jessica Forrestal. Students will have fun, be inspired and expand their art skills and abilities.
