About

Jessica Forrestal is a working artist in Denver, Colorado.  Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, she moved to Colorado in 2001.  Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 2005.  Her work is primarily abstract.  She enjoys pushing boundaries and keeping her artistic options open.  Currently Jessica is painting with discarded objects and exploring compositional aspects of mixed media.  She aspires to create work that stimulates the senses.  Composition draws the viewer in and invites personal interpretation.

As an emerging artist, Jessica displays her work in many venues.  Jessica’s fourth and final solo exhibition of 2011 is currently hanging at Anthology Fine Art in the heart of the Santa Fe Drive Art District in Denver, Colorado.

Artist Statement:

The world around me provides endless artistic possibilities. Using discarded materials as my inspiration sends me down many different paths. My mixed media process of layering acrylic paint with discarded materials allows me to innovate and reuse what was once thought disposable. Drawing from how I view my surroundings, I create works that speak of my presence. I compose a moment in time that can be stopped or slowed and simply enjoyed.

  1. Hey Jessica! I love your work. I am the Events Coordinator for Green Spaces Colorado, a co-op for eco- friendly businesses. We feature a new artist every month in our gallery space who is eco friendly or socially conscious. Your art works perfectly with our space I wanted to see if you had any interest in displaying your art for a month with us. We have Sept- Dec available. We do not take a commission, feature the artist in our newsletter to many eco friendly company supporters, and feature the artist for our first friday event. Please email me if you are interested or stop by to see our space. Best times to meet are Monday’s 12pm- 5pm. Thanks and good luck with you art!

  2. Dear Jessica — Congratulations on your entry in the First Bloom show. “Presence” is stunning.

The Denver Hospice is gearing up for its biennial Mask Project 2012 and we would be honored if you would create a mask that would be on display in Cherry Creek Shopping April 14 to May 13, 2012, and auctioned online to raise money for end-of-life care in our community.

We’d send the Mask Kit to you and the completed mask would be due back to us on March 12, 2012. You can visit masks from The Mask Project 2010 at http://www.themaskproject.org

I realize you get lots of requests and appreciate your consideration.
